As a child, I was very introspective, so I looked up to leaders I found in books. But turning inwards led me to believe that leaders needed to be perfect and widely knowledgeable, which, in reality, is isolating and debilitating. I thought my strength came from sharing that knowledge, but robbing people of their journey doesn’t really serve them. Alignment Leadership has given me the tools to harness my true strength—ambition—and use it to serve people, rather than overwhelm them with information. I’ve discovered that through Alignment Leadership, I can overcome my early ideas of leadership. I don’t have to worry about having all the answers. I can be an incredible leader, a better person, and even a better parent, all by serving others.
